A Brief History of Kristin Belka Maier
Kristin Belka Maier is a television and feature writer living in Los Angeles. Her work is female-focused and character-driven with a belief that coming-of-age can happen at any age. Her series inspired by the successful podcast Guys We F*cked sold to FOX alongside Lionsgate TV and The Tannenbaum Company. Wayward Girls, her semi-autobiographical feature about growing up in the middle of the ‘90s and trying to stay sane while your parents’ marriage falls apart is set to begin production next year. Nancy Kanter is producing under her Available Light banner and Kimberly McCullough is attached to direct.
Kristin’s work has been recognized by UCLA and The Sundance Institute. Previously, Kristin was staffed on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and as the only woman in room full of men, she learned the quickest way to be seen and heard when you stand out, is to put a box of tampons in the single stall bathroom you’re forced to share with the entire staff. She gained infinite knowledge working with veteran sitcom writer Michael J. Weithorn while he developed for 20th Century Fox, ABC Studios, FX, and Comedy Central.
Kristin has an underdog spirit and an insatiable hopeless romanticism, like her hero, Bruce Springsteen.
